From what I heard from people who lived there they still do not understand the reason why the original 70/80s Ffrith Beach was not updated but replaced with a lemon that has been supported by council money on the back of it being a humongous failure. From what I've seen in my own town and we are on our third major development now since the mid-1970s, councils are an extension of governments. And what they have done to Warrington is turn it from a busy town shopping facility, into a walkway for people who can not afford to get into Warrington especially the elderly, who now rely on taxis which are extortionate.......shops demolished and mals put in place most of which are unoccupied.....and we now have another failing cinema......to be filled by people who are not there to start with.....Central 6 road blockage 15-minute town system funded by the government has just failed thankfully,....the backhanders to ruin Warrington must have been in their millions...well done,..... councillors your job is now done.

It was always the poor relation to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, but still worth a visit in its prime. Sad to see the site like this.

I went on that rollercoaster when i was a kid. Very sad that it's long gone now.

One ☝️ of the main attractions was ocean beach funfair in Rhyl was always very busy I remember going as a kid in the 70s and taking my own kids in the late 80s and 90s we stayed at Sunnyvale camp for many many years had some happy memories

Interesting film, I worked there for a couple of seasons from early season 1996 to ends of season 1997, remember it so well, got to know lots of people, I was the only electrician on site so it’s was long hours in the Summer, that side entrance at the start of the video was the engineers and other staff access to the site not a public one, but you could nip through on the way down from the car park. Good times.

i stay in scotland my street used to do a yearly trip to there, i used to look forward to the summer holidays from school to go there,, i dont know if it was true you could see the big one in blackpool from the top of the polo mint

Sad but it was a rotting mess before demolition. That being said the retail park that's replaced it isn't exactly imaginative regeneration.

The sun setting really makes this even sadder. A happy part of my childhood gone forever. 😭😭.

When i was a kid 8 or 10yrs old my late mums partner had a barbers shop in morecambe i loved it use to get a wristband for about 3.50 pound and go on frontierland for hours end up in funhouse brilliant times iam now nearly 49yrs old so long frontier land got my great memories 😀👍😊

I used to come here from around 1975 through to 1995 and wow has it changed today. Great times back in the day

The reason it’s all shut because North Wales is on lock down!!!! If you were caught you would of received a fine from NWP!!! We are only allowed out for essentials. It’s not the same as england where they have eased the lockdown 😡

It’s 2019 and it’s still sat there doing nothing every trace of the park has been removed now it’s just wasteland such a shame

Vaguely remember a great one in 1995. There was a beer drinking contest, where the participants chugged while "cotton eye joe" by rednex blared on the PA - and the prize was a Moped.... ... which turned out to be a mop head XD

Used to go there all the time as a kid, thought I'd have a look for a nostalgia trip, heart breaking to see what became of it..

why did they get rid of the fair as it was one of the main attractions all seaside areas needs the fair they should build a new modern one to bring back all its tourists it once had

Shame on Lancaster county council for allowing this to happen ! Everything is all about money these days - used to go there every year had some great memories there

very sad i had some of the happiest times of my life on holiday here from 1977-1983, ive heard over the years its had a lot of drug and crime in the town, but it used to be awesome as an 8 year old kid!

my dad still says its the place to be seen if your a cool cat he loves it and hes only 53
